Become a Member of St. Nicholas
For more information about becoming a member, or to have a Welcome Packet mailed to you, please call the church office at (757) 422-5600. Our Welcome Packet includes a Membership Registration form and a Time and Talent Survey. A Stewardship Pledge Card is also included.
A member in “good standing,” as defined in our By-Laws, is one who:
- Is 18 years of age or older.
- Was baptized according to the rites of the Orthodox Church or was received in to the Orthodox Church through Chrismation.
- Lives according to the faith and cannons of the Church, and has signed a stewardship pledge card.
- Abides by the “Special Regulations and Uniform Parish Regulations of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America,” and the local Parish By-Laws.
Note: To be able to vote at a general assembly or in parish elections or to run for parish council, a member in good standing must also have been active in the liturgical life of the church for one year.
